Fed points to soft landing for economy

Federal Reserve policymakers are becoming a little more confident about their ability to engineer a soft landing for the US economy, minutes published on Wednesday reveal.

The minutes, from the last Fed policy meeting on October 25, show that most Fed policymakers thought the downside risks to growth had “diminished a little” since the previous meeting, while some thought the upside risks to inflation had also declined, though “only slightly”.
