Observer: A Bush ends term on a high note

As President George W. Bush is shunned by his fellow Republicans and pilloried by Democrats ahead of today's mid-term election, he would be forgiven a feeling of envy towards his younger brother, Jeb, who is ending his eight years as governor of Florida on a high.

With a statewide approval rating above 60 per cent, Jeb looks set to leave office in January more popular than when he was elected.
