Tories seek changes to company law reform

The Conservatives will this week demand changes to substantial parts of Labour's flagship company law reforms, using their clout in the House of Lords to try to rewrite a bill they warn could damage the UK economy.

In a string of amendments to be debated by peers this week, the Tories are to voice business concerns that the government, far from slashing bureaucracy, is about to impose onerous new duties on company directors.
