TNS failed to coax higher bid from WPP

Taylor Nelson Sofres said on Friday that its chairman met Sir Martin Sorrell last week to try to persuade the WPP chief executive to raise his bid for the market research company to a point at which its board could recommend the offer.

TNS said WPP “declined to enter into a dialogue with TNS regarding the benefits of a recommendation”, such as co-operation to ensure a successful transition.
