Turkish envoy in Baghdad for talks on incursion

A senior Turkish envoy began talks with Iraqi officials in Baghdad on Wednesday as the United States called for a quick end to Turkey’s week-long incursion into northern Iraq to fight Kurdish guerrillas.

Acting Iraqi Prime Minister Barham Saleh said a prolonged offensive would lead to ”dire” consequences for the region.
