Flagging financial stocks a drag on Wall Street

US stocks dropped on Friday after a third consecutive positive week put the benchmark S&P 500 index on course for its highest monthly rise since 1991.

Financial stocks were the heaviest fallers, with banks slumping after Jamie Dimon, chief executive of JPMorgan and Ken Lewis, head of Bank of America said results had deteriorated in March.
