Nepal’s government divided over future

Nepal’s ruling Maoists are at odds over the political direction of their country, riven over whether to keep a parliamentary democracy or push for a communist People’s Republic.

The dispute in the world’s youngest republic is the biggest challenge to the authority of Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the prime minister, from within his party since he took power in August.
