Wealth gap stays high despite some success on inequality

The gap between rich and poor in Britain remains high, but the government has succeeded in preventing inequality from rising as quickly as it has in other countries in recent years.

The figures from a large international comparison by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development show Labour has a mixed record on tackling inequality, poverty and social mobility.
