Retailers cast off Icelandic shadow

Iceland, with a population no bigger than Bristol, was always an unlikely invader.

But this time last year, large chunks of the UK retail sector were under Reykjavik’s control as Icelandic investors saw the tactical advantages of investing in Britain’s high streets.
