Drug lobby unveils ads code

The pharmaceuticals industry yesterday reacted to growing scrutiny over its US consumer advertising practices for prescription drugs by unveiling voluntary advertising guidelines.

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the industry lobby group in the US, released "guiding principles" for advertising that drugmakers can choose to adopt.
