Prices of younger, expensive Bordeaux vintages have fallen as much as twenty-five per cent in the last two months, prompting scores of investors to buy cases.
Simon Staples, marketing director at the London wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd, says the prices of vintages from 2005 - a particularly good year for French vineyards - have fallen by the largest margin. “Last week, we sold millions and millions of pounds worth of the most expensive wines to foreign investors,” he said.
