Saturday nights in August should be the busiest times of the year for Hiddy Walker and her husband Marc-Pierre, proprietors of the La Plume d’Oie restaurant in the French town of La Roque Gageac.

Squeezed between towering cliffs and the meandering Dordogne, the medieval town and its finest restaurant are normally buzzing with contented customers.
