In the upper secondary school in the village of Tyrnävä there is no teacher in the classroom. In fact there is no teacher in the whole school most of the time because 90 per cent of teaching is done remotely.
The seven students in the classroom only see their Swedish language teacher once a week. The rest of the week they communicate via a video monitor, microphone and cameras, using scanners to show their work in class and e-mails to deliver their homework. Teachers typically look after one class directly and one class remotely.
