CBI calls for £5bn scheme to be widened

The £5bn government-backed scheme to “top up” supply chain insurance should be broadened to give more help to recession-hit companies according to the CBI, the employers’ body.

“We’re saying to the government this is a step in the right direction but it does not go far enough. We’d like them to have another go at it,” said John Cridland, CBI deputy director-general.
