Acer and Lenovo send out mixed signals

Acer and Lenovo, the world’s third- and fourth-largest PC makers, on Friday sent conflicting signals about demand, confirming that the industry had not yet turned the corner in spite of signs of stabilisation since the beginning of the year.

J.T. Wang, chief executive of Acer, said he expected the second quarter of this year to be better than the first “but how much better isn’t yet clear”.
