Latin America pays the price for fuel subsidy

Driving along the clogged arteries of Latin America’s mega-cities can be a nightmare, not least because of the sheer volume of gas-guzzling cars, lorries and buses that daily take to the streets.

And in spite of the sharp rise in international oil prices, that seems likely to remain the case for some time to come.
