Ambac falls on fears for health

Shares in Ambac plunged further on Thursday amid renewed concerns about the bond insurer’s financial health.

Ambac’s $3.2bn cash shortfall in its financial products arm following cuts in its credit ratings by Moody’s Investors Service, which triggered collateral payments, was expected to be met by a transfer of funds from its insurance operations.
