Olympics fail to lift spending on Chinese ads

Advertising spending in China during the Beijing Olympics fell back to its lowest since the Sichuan earthquake in May 2008, well below forecasts of a growth spike around the games.

The Beijing games failed to provide the boost to advertising previous Olympics experienced, according to figures released by Nielsen, the market research group.
