CBI challenges GDP optimism

The CBI has sounded a cautionary note on rising hopes that the recession is over, saying that it did not expect growth to return until next year.

The forecast of a slower return to growth from the leading UK business lobby group contrasts with the increasing number of economists at banks and City consultancies who believe that gross domestic product has either started to grow again or will do so shortly.
