Cosco IPO raises fears of ‘systemic under-pricing’

Shares in Cosco Holdings nearly doubled on their first day of trading in Shanghai on Tuesday after China’s largest shipping group received record subscriptions for its $2bn offering.

The dramatic rise in the company’s shares demonstrated the continued strong investor demand for blue-chip Chinese companies despite recent weakness in the mainland stock market.
