The Federation of Small Businesses will lodge a formal complaint against the French government on Wednesday for failing to prevent port blockades that cost the UK economy millions.

The FSB said thousands of small haulage companies have been threatened by blockades, which have left their vehicles stranded for days when 70 per cent of the haulage trade is already suffering a drop in business.
