Tories accuse Lib Dem leaders over spending split

Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader, will address the opening of his party’s pre-election conference on Saturday amid allegations of a split with Vince Cable, his deputy, over public spending.

The Tories on Friday accused the Lib Dems of “divisions at the top” after Mr Clegg promised he would “not cut” schools funding, saying it would be “madness” to do so.
