LSE claims top spot for flotations

The London Stock Exchange reignited its battle with New York rivals, saying it remained the leader for international flotations in 2007.

London said it had attracted 86 IPOs from 22 countries this year up to December 14, raising £14.5bn. The LSE said this was double the £7bn raised in offerings by non-US companies conducted on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq combined.
