Profile: Henry Paulson

Henry M. Paulson became chairman and chief executive of Goldman Sachs Group in 1999, the banking and securities firm, having joined the group in 1974.

Between 1970 to 1972 he served as a Pentagon aide to the assistant secretary of defence, during the turbulent years of the Vietnam conflict, and was also a member of the White House Domestic Council under President Nixon’s reign.
