Credit rating agency accused of unfairness

An ex-pat American head of a profitable start-up has accused a credit rating agency of unfairly penalising her young business by using her nationality as a guide to future performance.

Creditsafe UK last month cut its score for Powerchex – an employment screening business started by former Wall Street banker Alexandra Kelly four years ago – after overhauling its criteria for analysing companies.
