Dollar slumps while pressure on Beijing eases

The fragile US dollar slumped once again, hitting a fresh 28-year low against its Canadian namesake in the process. The sell-off occurred just as the market was expecting a tranquil session ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve statement.
