Exubera loss hits Consort Medical

First-half pre-tax profit at Consort Medical dropped 41 per cent after Pfizer scrapped production of Exubera, an inhaled diabetes treatment.

The medical devices company, formerly known as Bespak, said it was taking a £4.04m ($8.3m, €5.6) exceptional charge to close its Milton Keynes factory, where components for Exubera were made.
