Samsung set to use Philips NFC chips

Philips will today announce that Samsung Electronics, the world's third-largest mobile handset maker, has agreed to use its near-field communication chips in its cellular devices.

The deal is a milestone for the Dutch group's NFC business. NFC chips create a wireless connection between different electronic devices, allowing people to make purchases or share data using their mobile handsets without complex menus.
