Malaysia acts to entice investors

Malaysia has eased foreign ownership rules for asset management funds and brokerages under a sweeping liberalisation programme announced last week by Najib Razak, the prime minister, in an effort to attract foreign investment.

But industry players caution there is unlikely to be much foreign interest in the sector until other related reforms to boost market activity gain traction.
