Fly into almost any Mexican city these days and on its periphery you will see rows and rows of uniform, red-tiled roofs and whitewashed walls that now stand in what not so long ago were open fields or dry and barren hills.

This changing landscape is the result of the biggest housing surge in the country’s history, and it is providing spectacular growth for a legion of building, housing and construction companies.
