AstraZeneca is set to receive a boost to sales of its cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor after a study showed it significantly reduced the risk of severe heart attacks.

Jupiter, a trial funded by the Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company, showed a 44 per cent relative reduction in cardio-vascular death and heart attack in apparently healthy older people using Crestor.
