Tate Modern has permanently removed an art work featuring a nude photograph of the actress Brooke Shields taken when she was 10 years old, after Scotland Yard told the gallery it was indecent under the Protection of Children Act.

The gallery will replace the 1983 work, “Spiritual America”, by the artist Richard Prince with a different version of the same work taken in 2005.
