Israel presses Berlin on Iran sanctions

The Israeli government used a first-ever joint cabinet meeting with a German government on German soil to press Berlin into supporting more sanctions against Iran over its nuclear aims.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, said Tehran had shown its “true face” when suppressing domestic opponents and that it could easily come to “tyrannise” other states, too.
