Asian ship lines face threat of seizure

Growing numbers of Asian container lines face the prospect of having their ships seized by creditors because of financial strains caused by the fall in world trade, according to a report published on Wednesday .

“Asset foreclosure on the weaker shipowners in the Asian and global liner markets in the next six to 12 months is increasingly likely,” said Peter Choy, the Hong Kong-based vice-president of Moody’s Global Corporate Finance.
