Dell shares fall 10% on poor results

Shares of Dell fell nearly 10 per cent in after-hours trading on Thursday as weak US consumer sales led profits at the personal computer maker to fall short of Wall Street expectations.

Dell also warned that its near-term results could be “adversely impacted” by slowing declines in component prices and costs arising from its restructuring.
