Equity default swaps shunned

The equity default swap, a derivative that offers a potentially crucial bridge between equity and credit, has yet to be fully embraced by collateralised debt obligation (CDO) investors, said Fitch Ratings yesterday.

CDOs are portfolios of securities that package bonds, loans or derivatives.
