In the first week of November millions of Kenyans will stay up late, or wake up early, to find out whether Barack Obama, who they have embraced as a native son, will become the first black president of the US.
Millions of people from all corners of society have united around Mr Obama’s candidacy for the White House, pooling their shared pride in the success of the son of a Kenyan father.
