Writers' prize goes to New Zealander

Lloyd Jones has become the first New Zealand author to win the Commonwealth Writers' prize in 18 years for his novel Mister Pip.

The £10,000 prize was awarded to Mr Jones yesterday at the Calabash Literary festival in Jamaica.
