Nokia warning hits European markets

A warning from Nokia that the mobile phone group’s share of the handset market will fall in the third quarter piled pressure on European markets on Friday, pushing shares to a third consecutive session of heavy losses.

Shares in the Finnish group fell 9.6 per cent to €14.20, in jittery trade as investors offloaded banking and resource stocks amid fears of a global economic slowdown.
