Recycling is not the answer

Sustainability is a concept that has growing buy-in from businesses and consumers alike. We all walk around, whether in the workplace or at home, switching off lights, recycling empties and feeling a warm glow at our environmentally-responsible behaviour.

Despite increasing recognition, there is still confusion over what sustainability means, particularly at a practical level. At the strategic level, we find that businesses recognise that the so-called “triple bottom line” – profit, planet and people – is needed for businesses to survive and thrive in the longer term. If businesses don’t look after all three, they will go under.
