A court in Burma has heard the final arguments in the case of Aung San Suu Kyi, the opposition leader, who could face five years in prison if convicted of breaking the terms of her house arrest.
Mrs Suu Kyi, 64, is accused of allowing John Yettaw to stay in her house in May. Mr Yettaw, a diabetic American from Falcon, Missouri, who was apparently acting on a vision he had in which Mrs Suu Kyi was in danger, swam the lake behind her house and arrived exhausted, prompting the Nobel Laureate reluctantly to offer him shelter.
