Cameron vows to restore pension-earnings link

The Conservatives will restore the link between earnings and the basic state pension if they win the general election, despite the dire state of the public finances.

Following weeks of speculation that the Conservatives might renege on the deal, David Cameron, the Conservative leader, said it would be “a false economy” to do so.
