Iraqis seek more time to draft constitution

The Iraqi parliament yesterday sought to extend its term for debating the country's constitution.

Humam Hamoudi, chairman of the parliament's constitutional drafting committee, said he was considering requesting an additional 30 days, an extension that other committee members from the Shia majority parliamentary bloc later confirmed had been agreed upon, according to the Associated Press.
