Regulator calls on UBS to pay

UBS, the custodian bank to Luxalpha, one of the main European funds invested in Bernard Madoff, should compensate investors for their losses, the French regulator said on Monday.

Speaking on publication of the regulator’s annual report, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, president of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, said custodian banks “are responsible and investors should be compensated”.
