Iran issues proposals for nuclear talks

Iran presented a package of proposals to the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday in the hope of opening a new dialogue with the west, as it came under renewed pressure over its nuclear programme.

Glyn Davies, the US representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, said the US had “serious concerns” that Iran was trying to preserve a nuclear weapons option.
