Verizon Wireless, the second largest US mobile carrier, will launch a service delivering eight channels of live television to its mobile phone subscribers using a network run by Qualcomm.

“VCast TV will be the first truly live mobile TV service,” said Denny Strigl, Verizon Communication’s chief operating officer. “You will never miss the final seconds of a play-off game again.”
