Hossein Rassam, the last British embassy detainee, who has been accused by the Iranian authorities of acting against Iran’s national security is set to be released on bail as early as this weekend, according to his lawyer.

Abdolsamad Khorramshahi said Mr Rassam, whose detention along with eight other embassy staff last month has caused a diplomatic row between the UK and Iran, called his wife on Wednesday evening asking for the bail to be prepared.
