'Explosion' in prosecutions as fraud spirals dramatically

Fraud prosecutions have surged in the past six months, with the value of money involved reaching the highest recorded level for a decade, according to figures released today.

The "fraud barometer", calculated by KPMG Forensic and based on important fraud cases heard in crown courts, shows an "explosion" in fraud case prosecutions, with fraud against financial institutions "spiralling dramatically", according to the accountancy firm.
