Managers’ fee squeeze intensifies

Asset management houses are being forced to hand over a larger slice of their revenues to powerful distributors in exchange for selling their funds, according to McKinsey & Co, the management consultants.

And McKinsey warns in its annual industry report that the squeeze could intensify if the shift of power to distributors, such as high street and private banks, means asset managers rather than customers end up paying upfront commissions to distribution channels.
