Georgia braced for war report

Georgia is braced for a European Union-sanctioned report on the causes of the August 2008 war with Russia that could further undermine its claims that its forces invaded South Ossetia in response to a Russian assault.

The report, to be released on Wednesday, is expected to reinforce the consensus that both sides share responsibility for the war but that Georgia triggered the conflict by invading the breakaway region before Russian forces moved in.
